Welcome to Montana Veteran Affairs Division
The Montana Veteran Affairs Division (MVAD) was established in 1919 and was originally named the "Montana Welfare Veterans Commission." This name then changed to the Montana Board of Veteran Affairs, which oversees the Montana Veteran Affairs Division. MVAD is administratively attached to the Department of Military Affairs.
MVAD has been established to promote the general welfare of Montana Veterans and their families by establishing a statewide network of service for military veterans and their families. We provide services and assistance for all Montana veterans and surviving spouses and dependents in coordination with associated federal and state agencies, veteran's service organizations, private organizations, and individuals.
